Do you yearn to create non-representational images but don't know exactly how to jump in?  This workshop using paper collage is designed to focus on beginning to think in abstract images.  During the workshop participants will focus on making many small paper collage works on mat board.  These finished works can stand alone as finished creations or one can use them as inspirations for a painting.  Multi-media techniques using acrylic paints and other techniques will be demonstrated.

Courage and a willingness to try new ideas are a pre-requisite to this workshop.  Beginners to advanced levels are welcome.

Materials List (student provides):

  1. 4 to 5 pieces of mat board (approx. 8"x10")
  2. Gloss medium and varnish by Liquitex,
  3. Inexpensive nylon brushes
  4. Thin craft tissue paper painted by the participants and other handmade and/or thin papers
